If a place has a history, it remains in memory forever

Dad, I did what you would have liked. Are you happy?’, the story of a young tourism entrepreneur from Salento
The story of those who have chosen to get involved, to take risks, to give up the comfortable life, to invest and create a business. Maybe they chose a few more sleepless nights, a few more thoughts, a few more problems, but to us it seemed like a model, a symbol, an example to tell. And if you liked this story, go find it...
The story of those who have received from their family a plot of land, the result of sacrifices, savings, and a lot of hard work. The story of those who have chosen to stay in Salento diving into the tourism sector and giving life to a receptive and catering activity on those inherited lands. The story of those who have chosen not to sell that plot of land but to go to an accountant, to a consultant in subsidized finance, to a trusted bank, and to commit to turning what seemed like a burden into an opportunity.
Sittatu su nu pisulu,
nu pinsieru fissu: ce ni fazzu te sta terra senza futuru?
Intra sta terra, sirma minau
tanti suturi,
chiantau tanta rrobba
e crisciu puru li muli.
Moi, la manu soa,
la sentu sulla spaddrha e iddru me lu tisse:
Statte attentu allu tiempu ca sta cangia.
Osce dra terra sente ancora l’ardore te lu passatu, aggiu tinuta tanta forza e moi
ete nu postu nueu,
comu nu vecchiu ca s’è cangiatu.
Se chiama Villa Assuntina...ttruei accoglienza, cibu bbuenu e na piscina.

Sitting on a stone bench,
I had a recurring thought: what do I do with all this land without a future?
It's true, on this land my father poured so much sweat,
planted so many things, and even raised donkeys.
Now I feel his hand on my shoulder and he told me:
'Be careful, times are changing.
Today that land still feels the heat of the past, I had so much strength and now
it's a new place
like an old man who has changed his clothes'.
It's called Villa Assuntina, you'll find hospitality, good food, and a swimming pool.
